The Great Depression
The Great Depression was the most catastrophic economic event to ever take place in the history of the industrialized world lasting about 10 years.

Brief Overview
The Great Depression is one of the most catastrophic economic downturns, since the start of industrialization. There were several leading factors as to what caused the downturn with one of the most significant being the 1929, stock market crash. This then caused a chain reaction, which led to people being forced into poverty, homelessness, and so on. The reason why this economic downturn was given the name, the Great Depression, is because of the low moral individuals had during these trying times with many losing hope.
